New Coaching Dynamics and Olympic Preparations

Sources from within the Moroccan national team circle have stated that the details of “communication and coordination” included in the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s statement regarding the separation from Issam El Adoua and the appointment of Tarik Sektioui in his place as the coach of the Moroccan Olympic team were “clear and not subject to interpretation”.

The same sources explained that the current Olympic team includes the nucleus of the senior national team for the next year or two, meaning there is a necessity for coordination and communication between the staff of both teams and adherence to a specific strategy in working with players under 23 years old, in a manner deemed appropriate by the head coach of the senior team.

Last Thursday, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation announced the appointment of Tarik Sektioui as the coach of the Olympic team, replacing national coach Issam El Adoua.

The Federation, in its statement, considered that “this change comes within the framework of the new approach of the National Teams Committee, which involves coordination and communication between the technical staff of all national teams.”

This change comes four months before the start of the Olympic Games in Paris, which will see the participation of the Moroccan team under 23 years old after securing qualification under the leadership of Issam El Adoua last July.
